Welcome to the twelfth edition of the Expanse Newsletter for 2017. This publication is a bi-monthly newsletter issued on the 1st and 15th of each month to share happenings within our community. Keep in mind that breaking news can come at any time, but the Expanse Newsletter is a great overview of progress, news, and our current focus.
Introducing TOKENLAB™ from Expanse. This product has been in production for some time by the Expanse developers and is nearing release. TOKENLAB is just what it sounds like—a laboratory for creating tokens for crowd sales, tech projects—anything you can imagine. It will also be a super easy way for people to launch ERC 20 tokens on the Expanse.Tech™ platform with time-locked, integrated ICO contracts. This laboratory will also be integrated into our cutting edge Gander Explorer System, providing the ability to create your own tokens that live on the Expanse.Tech blockchain. They will reside in our safe and secure Expanse Mist Wallet, which is a powerful way to easily start up your own contract and store tokens.
The purpose of this contract is to run an ICO campaign for a specific time period. You can deploy this contract and begin accepting any combination of the following tokens and currencies: Expanse (EXP), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), or Litecoin (LTC). Investors will buy into the ICO for a specific period of time. At the end of this time period, the ICO contract will terminate and result in generating the token contract, with a supply and price that depends on the initial terms set up for the ICO and a number of sales.
The token will represent a standard ERC 20 token that will be tradable on an exchange and later automatically on a decentralized Expanse-based exchange. However, initially, you would need to get your token listed on other well known centralized or decentralized exchanges, convincing them of your value proposition. To be successful, you will need to produce a well-developed business plan, backed by a solid team. When the ICO ends, the Token ICO sale owner will then transfer tokens to the investors using the transfer function of the contract.
What will TOKENLAB do? TOKENLAB will manage the creation of the ICO contract and the subsequent issuing of the token at the end of the ICO. TOKENLAB will allow ICO issuers and investors to manage their ICO in a single location. With the coming Gander integration, all of this can be easily tracked on the blockchain, making the entire process seamless and easy to manage. Besides viewing in Gander, ICO investors will also be able to go to the TOKENLAB website, (currently in development), to monitor the ICOs they have invested in, tracking their progress. ICO owners can potentially create and track multiple ICOs, and they can choose to create their own websites for their individual ICOs, as well.
MULTI-LANGUAGE EXPANSE WEBSITE LAUNCH
The Expanse team is proud to announce the launch of the Expanse.Tech Multi-language website. Expanse is for everyone, and that includes the entire world and all major languages and cultures. As a result, we are starting with a new website version that initially has these major languages designed to make it easier for people all around the world to learn about Expanse and to join our community: English, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. (More to come) The website is ready right now, so go ahead and try it by selecting the language you prefer from the upper-right of the Expanse.Tech landing page.
MONEYCONF 2017 MADRID SPAIN
As you may know, the Expanse team has been very busy participating in blockchain and technology conferences. We started by sponsoring the DC Blockchain Summit, then followed with attendance at the Collision Tech conference in New Orleans, Consensus 2017 in NYC, Token Summit in NYC, and Moneyconf 2017 in Madrid, Spain. This is one of the most powerful ways we can promote Expanse, gaining critical exposure to new prospective partners, while growing the user base, trust, and network effect.
We plan to continue with this strategy, which is exactly what Ethereum did early on. Led by Timothy Suggs, Expanse Business Development Manager, and our co-founder, Christopher Franko, they are making great connections and promoting the benefits and capabilities of Expanse at these venues. We have formed a partnership with Gameboard, which is an extraordinary development, with great potential. In addition, another major partner is close to signing an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding), which will result in an amazing new collaboration. This partnership was close to sealing at press time, but will most certainly be firmed up for an announcement in time for the next Newsletter.EXPANSE BOND SYSTEM (EBS) EXPLORER
Introducing the Expanse Bond System (EXBS) explorer from Expanse. With this new release, you can easily track EBS with Gander based on your address without needing to check the dApp. This in-depth feature provides a great deal of information for EBS (and Expanse Token) holders and it adds a great deal of utility to the EBS. This is also the base code that the upcoming TOKENLAB and ICO creation system will use. Note: EBS is a token on Gander as seen here.

EBS (EXPANSE BOND SYSTEM) INSTRUCTIONS
Click the link below for detailed instructions on setting up EBS, keeping in mind that currently they are sold out but we will issuing more EBS with the next update at any time now. You can set up the dApp in advance and be ready for the next distribution.
ETHEREUM AND EXPANSE
This is not about Ethereum vs Expanse, but rather, Ethereum and Expanse. That said, here are some reasons to consider Expanse.Launched 9/15/15, Expanse is the first stable public Ethereum chain.Expanse has unique dApps focused on real-world use and creating a network effect that will grow trust, value, and use over time.Borderless™ Corp. allows for conducting business in the real world. Many other projects have anonymous developers and are not suitable to actual business partnerships with no ability to move past the speculative phase.Borderless Corp., Inc. is creating EXP.Life™, a revolutionary gamification system. Borderless Tech is a decentralized governance system that can provide Borderless Citizenship ID, Marriage, A Web of Trust, Nation Creation, Public Notary, and Asset Registry. Additionally, Votelock™, another Borderless Corp. asset, is focused on implementing and perfecting blockchain-based voting systems, working in tandem with any system where blockchain-based immutable voting and record keeping are greatly needed. We also have partnerships with important blockchain related companies, such as Jaxx, Gameboard, HC.Blockchain, Centurylink, Microsoft Azure, Bizspark+, Changelly, Chankura, and Coinomi, with more soon to be announced. The Expanse Bonds System (EBS) is the first simulated staking smart contract system, granting rewards for holding Expanse (EXP), like a time-locked savings account that you do not even have to leave a computer running to gain rewards from. This is more secure than traditional staking or masternodes and much easier to use since tokens are locked in your private keys with no third party control. It is the first of its kind. The Gander block explorer system is one of the most robust in all of the blockchain. An innovative TOKENLAB and DAO rating system is coming to Gander, along with a new website explaining all of this, providing integration with EBS.Smart contracts cost around 1/50th as much to run as Ethereum, making Expanse practical to use as a dApp platform. We are also working on dual chain solutions so businesses can use both Expanse and Ethereum for different applications, saving costs when needed, and using the network effect of Ethereum when desired. The team is friendly, available, and accessible. You can talk directly to the lead developers of Expanse.Tech on the Expanse Slack. We are not isolated from the community; rather, we are part of the community and working with them to build Expanse together. The project had no ICO. Instead, it had a fair launch and a fair test launch and uses proof of work consensus. The team has worked hard almost non-stop since the launch of Ethereum itself, building up the value by improving and expanding the stable platform of Expanse.Tech.No smart contracts of Expanse have ever been hacked, and funds have been secured since the start of the project. There is no outside funding, therefore no outside influence.Using Votelock, and the upcoming Expanse DAO, the community will directly vote and participate with genuine user-based consensus for any important changes or updates to the Expanse.Tech blockchain and project. This is not a clone of Ethereum. It is a unique public blockchain with different choices from the Ethereum team. A monetary policy will also be voted on by the community in the future using Votelock, rather than just implementing some choice without consensus.
VOTELOCK AND MONETARY POLICY
One concern many traders and investors have about cryptocurrency is the concept of infinite tokens issued over time. While this is not a reality unless a crypto lasts for infinity, this is still a very real way that people think about the total supply of tokens and coins. Christopher Franko and James Clayton, the original Expanse founders, propose that we limit the total supply of EXP and put a cap on it in 80 years. This will not change inflation or impact utility in the slightest bit; this is not about halving block rewards, but simply capping them 80 years from now. The only thing this would change is the monetary policy and the creation of more scarcity for Expanse.
This is a trivial change that we can easily put on Testnet and implement with a safe soft fork. However, this is a change that we feel is important for the community to vote on, so this will be an ideal way to test out the new Votelock technology of Expanse. The community will vote on this proposal in the near future, and if approved, we will implement the soft fork and change the monetary policy to be more limited in the long run, without having any negative impact on utility. Even in 80 years, Expanse is divisible and the ecosystem could work just fine this way.
At block 42,000,000, the EXP block reward will go to 0. (If approved)
That’s about 80 years from now
About 350m EXP total Expanse to exist at block 42,000,000.
What this proposal, in around 80 years Expanse would reach Block 42,000,000 with 60 second block timing, and then the block reward would go to zero, meaning no more new Expanse are generated in 80 years and the total supply would be limited as soon as this proposed soft fork goes into effect.LIST OF CURRENT PARTNERSHIPS

INTERLEDGER PROTOCOL OF RIPPLE XRP
Expanse is one of the first Alternative Blockchain projects to join ILP, Interledger protocol of Ripple. There are a few “Internet of Blockchain” projects out there, but this is perhaps the most promising of them all. Expanse is staying ahead of the curve and ready, just in case this works out and is a success. It is an open source project and anyone can join. The Expanse team was one of the first to sign up to be a part of it back in September 2016.
SHOPPING WITH EXPANSE MADE EASY BY COINPAYMENTS
You can shop at many merchants right now using the Coinpayments Platform. We are one of the Alternative Tokens listed on Coinpayments, and they are a reliable trustworthy payment provider that works much like Bitpay does for Bitcoin.
